Frankel | Juddmonte

Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Saturday's Observations features a returning 'TDN Rising Star' by Frankel (GB)

KELINA (IRE) (Frankel {GB}) beat some subsequent winners with authority on debut at Deauville last month, earning 'TDN Rising Star' status in the process and is confined to conditions level for another outing by a patient Carlos Laffon-Parias. The Wertheimers' relative of the Group 1-winning trio of With You (GB) and We Are (Ire) and Call The Wind (GB), with the latter also by Frankel, encounters three other winners among her seven peers with one being the impressive Deauville debut scorer Chervona Kalyna  (Ire) (Caravaggio). Bought by Peter R. Bradley III following that romp, the relative of Lope De Vega (Ire) has left the Vaclav Luka stable and has her first run for Carlos and Yann Lerner here.

CONSCRIBE (GB) (Frankel {GB}) is another progeny of the Juddmonte giant to catch the eye on the card as a homebred daughter of the European champion 2-year-old filly Special Duty (GB) (Hennessy) who was later awarded both the 1000 Guineas and Poule d'Essai des Pouliches by the Newmarket and Longchamp stewards. Francis-Henri Graffard has charge of the April-foaled bay, whose half-sister Elegant Verse (GB) by Frankel's sire Galileo (Ire) took Monday's Listed Grand Prix de la Ville de Craon. Also related to the Breeders' Cup Mile-winning sire Expert Eye (GB), Sightseek (Distant View), Tates Creek (Rahy) and Etoile Montante (Miswaki), she is one of six newcomers opposing Nurlan Bizakov's Deauville third Tomila (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}), a Jean-Claude Rouget-trained daughter of the G3 Chartwell Fillies' S. winner Tomyris (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}).
